Height in the work area from 1.2 m, protective from 1.6 m, protective and security from 2 m.
Width of the pedestrian zone is not less than 1.2 m.

Presence of gates and wickets for the passage of equipment and movement of people.
The permissible gap size of structures installed close to sidewalks is no more than 5 mm.
The maximum permissible distance between mesh sections is 100 mm.

To choose and install a temporary fence correctly, pay attention to five main criteria.
Parameters of the construction site. The choice of fences depends on the size of the area. Where, for example, shopping centers and multi-level parking lots are built, massive structures with a concrete base and additional elements are needed. Lighter sections made of corrugated sheets and plastic are suitable for residential buildings. If you need to fence small areas with repair work, then mesh fences are sufficient.
The place where the work is carried out. The requirements for the installation of a temporary fence depend on the location of the construction site. For example, if the site is located outside the urban area, where there is no heavy traffic, you can use sections made of mesh and plastic. For central and busy streets, it is better to choose reliable structures that will eliminate excessive noise and provide reliable protection.
External conditions. If the work is short-term, there is no need to install permanent fences. Also, when the object is located far from the perimeter, in the depths, simple and light sections are enough. Types with canopies are used in areas where work is carried out near sidewalks and pedestrian areas.
Features of the work. When dismantling old finishes and reconstructions, it is recommended to use scaffolding with additional protective nets.
Cost. The most budget enclosing structures are made of mesh, and the most expensive ones are made of concrete. But this does not mean that you need to rely only on the financial side of the issue. Ignoring the rules and requirements is not recommended, because this is fraught with problems and administrative penalties. You need to find a fence that suits the price and meets all standards.
